Abstract: Illegally caught Russian king crab enters the market and directly competes with that caught in U.S. fisheries, [hurting] not only U.S. fishermen but also the U.S. economy as a whole…Many of the causes of this problem…occur in Russia and other Pacific Rim trade countries.  However, there are many steps the U.S. can take as a major importer of king crab to combat this problem and protect its domestic fishermen.
